Katheryn has always been active in sports. Growing up in Connecticut, she played field hockey, basketball, softball, and lacrosse before finding rowing where she was a member of the crew team at Mount Holyoke College. After graduating and moving to Vermont, she expanded her activities to include rock climbing, backpacking and mountain biking before getting bit by the road cycling bug when she was in graduate school. After graduating with a MS from University of Vermont in 2002, Katheryn packed up her bags (and bikes!) and moved to California to pursue being a full time cyclist. She found a home with the Webcor Professional Women's Cycling Team where she found success in 2005 in winning Elite Nationals and in 2008 in winning the Geelong World Cup. She represented the US in four World Championships and is most proud of her dedication to being a team player. Since retiring from racing, Katheryn has stayed involved in women's cycling through being a director sportif for the Amy D Foundation for three years and most recently for the pro team, Tibco-SVB. She loves leading group rides in her local area of Northern California and having adventures around the world that involve being on a bike. Katheryn got into Zwift several years ago and now seems to be having cycling career 2.0! Important Links: Victim, survivor, warrior: The transformation of Genevieve Jeanson
