As we enter spooky season, we simply had to turn our attention to a Halloween favourite and Christina Ricci was one of the first that sprang to mind. We were delighted to also be accompanied by our special guest, Kate Conboy-Fischer to chat all things Christina.

Forever seared into our heads as Wednesday Addams in The Addams Family and Addams Family Values (Barry Sonnenfeld, 1991 and 1993), she has become a Halloween staple in many households. Couple this with her work in Casper (Brad Silberling, 1995) and Sleepy Hollow (Tim Burton, 1999) and you have all the spooky season delights you could need.

Alongside some of these seasonal classics, we delve into some of Christina’s other career highlights, such as Buffalo ‘66 (Vincent Gallo, 1998), Black Snake Moan (Craig Brewer, 2006), Mermaids (Richard Benjamin, 1990), Monster (Patty Jenkins, 2003), Penelope (Mark Palansky, 2006) and 10 Things We Should Do Before We Break Up (Galt Niederhoffer, 2020).

This episode’s quiz pits Kate against Michael as we determine who has the better ear for witches on film. There were also cackles galore.

NOTE: This episode was recorded on the 3rd of October and mentions the iconic Angela Lansbury, in a celebration of one of cinema's greatest witches, ahead of her passing on the 11th of October.

We were truly spoiled for choice in what to talk about for Christina, but we wish she was getting film opportunities as exciting as we got in the 90s and 00s, so the three of us submit some fantasy film roles we’d love to see in her future to wrap up the episode.
