This week meet the founder of Girls in Gear. Gabrielle Rossi is the executive director of Girls in Gear which is a nonprofit organization that teaches young girls life skills through bike skills. Starting as young as 5 years old, Gabrielle and her team of coaches offer both one day clinics to learn to ride a bicycle as well as 8 week programs that combine the physical benefits of biking with the social and emotional learning that help build confidence in each of these youth. The program has expanded beyond New Jersey into neighboring states and to date they have helped hundreds of girls with both bike and life skills! Girls in Gear is for girls aged 5 and up, and they are always looking for coach volunteers so be sure to check out their website girlsingear.org.
