Welcome to Season 2021! The first meeting of the year gave Paul, Sarah and Henry a lot to talk about, even if the NBN gods weren't playing cricket. The team chat about the Ombudsman's report into credit card spending, the new and improved Tusmore Park Wading Pool and the Urban Forest Asset Management Plan.

The City of Burnside gets an environmental scorecard, we approve funding for Kensington Gardens facilities, we approve the Disability Inclusion Plan plus lots of events in the latest edition of the Burnside Brief.

Henry channels the Monty Python boys as we review the latest meeting of the City of Burnside Council. We talk about the new strategic plan, putting the Parkrun plan on hold, as well as some out of the chamber matters. And there are warm fuzzies.

After a mid-winter break, Crs Huebl, Davis and Hughes are back for the Burnside Brief. We talk Park-Running, School-Driving, Surveillance-Watching and Carbon-Offsetting.

In what has been a record gap between meeting and pod, Crs Huebl, Davis and Hughes manage to scurry around cats, the speed limit on Hallet Rd, the Small Business Friendly Council initiative, our new Disability Access and Inclusion Plan as well as some other tidbits, before getting back to cats again. Me-wow!

It's our first palindromic episode! We are a little briefer this week as Paul, Sarah and Henry talk about high-rise rubbish, the Keelty Review, new open space in Chamber's Gully and the popularity of the pump track. We also sneak in some discussion about our favourite words.

Happy 10th episode to us, even if we didn't realise it while recording! On the Brief this week, Paul Sarah and Henry chat about 31 Laurel Ave, Federal funding $, the pumptrack's new home, the budget, trees on private land and the possibility of a Youth Centre in Burnside.

We are late this week, but we talk about our Budget Workshop as well! The trio look at the Long Term Strategic Plan, the CEO probationary period ending, a return to meetings, and some feedback from listeners, who may or may not be our mums.

With such a short meeting, Cr Hughes was surprised to see that Crs Huebl and Davis still managed to rattle on for so long. They discussed the passing of Cr Bills, Kensington Gardens Reserve, the imminent move of the pump track, shed programs, grants, and dog bags.

Crs Huebl, Davis and Hughes look at the happenings of the 12th May 2020 Burnside Council meeting. We talk about Parkrun, the Commonwealth Home Support Program, flags, hard waste, electronic community engagement and cycling.

After a mammoth agenda, we've got a lot to talk about in the Burnside Brief this week. We look at subsidiary budgets, our own budget, traffic in Beulah Park, bluestone paving, heritage plaques and the upgrade to the Tusmore pool.

After an extended break due to fifth Tuesdays and adjournments, we are back! Paul, Sarah and Henry discuss items from the three meetings held on the 14th of April, 2020. We look at COVID-19 responses, our Library delivery service, East Waste, Food Trucks, the 2020/21 budget and the GAROC Board.

Paul’s back for Episode 4 and despite struggling with our sign-offs still, we briefly chat about the opening of the Modular Pumptrack, a potential new segment, buses, helicopters and the COVID-19 response by the City of Burnside.

Artistic differences see Paul practising his scooter skills, but Sarah and Henry are back again, chatting about disappointing conferences and positive climate communities, the Regal Conservation Management Plan, the Eastern Regional Alliance (Paul would’ve remembered them all, sorry Campbelltown!) Strategic Plan, the Reflect Reconciliation Action Plan and look forward to the Pump Track opening this weekend.

Very briefly, this podcast is going to be a conversation between elected members at the City of Burnside, as well as a few special guests After each regular council meeting, Henry Sarah and I will unpack the decisions we have made and share in a little more depth the issues coming up in the chamber. We are really looking forward to bringing you this new and exciting way of sharing what’s going on with within the City of Burnside.
