Hey glowing gang. Today my sister, Sarah Schuler, is joining me to have a really hard conversation about growing up in a home with domestic violence and addiction. We talk about how heartbreaking and anxious it felt as children to experience a parent this way, the truths we formed about ourselves and the world, how it's impacted us as mothers, the way we see ourselves now, the relationships we've involved ourselves in, and how it truly complicated our grief after the loss of our father. It's a complex issue and anyone who has experienced substance addiction, domestic violence, and/or loss--- i am very aware that we all have our own experiences that are unique to us. My hope in sharing our story is to help anyone else who has also walked through this know that they aren't alone. Your trauma does not define you, who you are, or what you're capable of.
