Together, the band has a sound that has made it one of the most popular bands in Southeast North Carolina. Nephilym goes from the heaviest of metal sounds to plaintive acoustics, from throat-splitting screams to haunting harmonies and melodies. Their music is moody, mean, sweet and infectious. The band members say it's all represented in the name of the band itself: Nephilym, a name used for the offspring of the sons of God and mortal women, basically translated as "fallen ones". It was the word used to describe the angel/human hybrid that later disappeared in translations of the Bible, but remains in mythologies.
