Welcome back to RightHab! Today is our first installment of our "No Fly List" series. The No Fly List is our list of exercises and ideas that are banned. Not because they are "dangerous" or "bad," but because they should have no place in our practice. They offer little to no benefit, and are easily replaced by better, more functional activities. For today, we discuss very low level quadriceps exercises. Specifically quad set, SAQ, and LAQ. Many of us were taught this in school, and many patients have seen these exercises. In this episode, we discuss why these exercises are insufficient and should be unacceptable. We will also discuss some alternatives that will better serve our patients and their outcomes.
