As a baseball writer Sheryl Weikal has always put her pen in line with her principles. She not only spoke stats, but also spoke out on issues that matter and didn't shy away from social critique at the intersections of sport and society. She cut so close to the quick at times that one team said she wasn't welcome to attend a game at their park. Weikal approaches what she sees as her life's work with the same passion. She a Chicago-based lawyer who specializes in being advocate for those who otherwise wouldn't have one. Her practice centered on consumer protection. Some speak of being "for the little guy". This tough trans woman does so.
