Janet Tonkins, a real estate developer, investor, coach, Bible Study teacher, author, speaker, and philanthropist, is guided by her Christian faith. Known as “the Cashflow Diva” in her hometown, she has amassed over 100 residential properties, acquiring up to four new ones monthly. Despite growing up in poverty, Tonkins now shares her knowledge with aspiring real estate investors.
Janet, married for 43 years to Owen Tonkins, co-founded ART Enterprises, a family-owned real estate company. She has developed significant projects, including biotech labs, a 150-unit apartment building, and 79 luxury homes near Johns Hopkins Hospital. In Paterson, N.J., she and Owen built a $37 million apartment building for grandparents raising grandchildren, marking a historic achievement as the first Black developers to build from the ground up in the city.
With over $700 million in real estate transactions across multiple cities, Janet is also a retired Verizon contracts manager. She serves on several boards and has been featured in publications like USA Today and Women of Wealth Magazine. Her book, "The Turning Point," co-authored with Jack Canfield, was released in October 2022, with more works forthcoming.
