Who or What do you have a LOVE & HATE relationship with?
Feb 4 2023
Who or What do you have a LOVE & HATE relationship with?
Our topic this week was Who or What do you have a LOVE & HATE relationship with? Mine was the Buffalo Bills because since the early 90's they have picked me Up to let me DOWN. What are some things or people you love and hate? Featured song: LoveHate Thing by  @walemusic  featuring  @samdew6979  Love and hate are two emotions that drive human behavior and shape our relationships with others. Love is a feeling of strong affection and caring, while hate is an intense feeling of dislike or animosity. Both love and hate have the power to bring people together and drive them apart, and both can have a profound impact on our lives.   Love can be the glue that holds relationships together, providing a sense of security, comfort, and support. Whether it's the love between family members, friends, or romantic partners, it has the power to create a sense of belonging and to help us navigate the ups and downs of life. Love can also inspire us to be our best selves, to care for others, and to seek out new experiences and opportunities.   On the other hand, hate can be a destructive force, tearing relationships apart and causing pain, anger, and resentment. Hate can arise from a variety of sources, including differences in culture, religion, politics, or personal experiences. It can lead to discrimination, violence, and conflict, and can even escalate into larger social and political movements. Despite the differences between love and hate, they are both powerful emotions that can have a lasting impact on our lives. Whether we choose to focus on love and positivity, or to give in to hate and negativity, depends on our individual perspectives and choices.   Ultimately, it is up to each of us to decide how we approach love and hate in our lives. We can choose to cultivate love and positivity, to seek out and surround ourselves with people who bring out the best in us, and to let go of hate and negativity. Or we can choose to give in to hate and negativity, to let it control our relationships and our lives, and to be consumed by anger and bitterness.   No matter what we choose, it is important to remember that love and hate are both integral parts of the human experience and that they both have the power to shape our lives in profound ways. So choose wisely, and always strive to find love and positivity in every aspect of your life. Givers Of Death Movie Interview (G.O.D)
Nov 2 2022
Givers Of Death Movie Interview (G.O.D)
His first narrative feature is Givers of Death, also known as G.O.D., from filmmaker Addison Henderson. Perhaps another pandemic-inspired pessimistic thriller? An incurable virus has wiped out one-third of the world’s population (too close to home?). Many infected commit suicide to end their agony. Those who cannot bring themselves to end their lives hire professionals (called G.O.D. of course). It is the journey of a man, a detective, and an entire city's quest for peace. Among this backdrop, a hitman searches for peace as he navigates through a city on the brink of collapse. The film explores whether peace can be attained when one exists in constant chaos - in reality, or in the mind. "An apocalyptic tale of redemption." Starring Henderson with Louis Lombardi, JJ Alfieri, Addison Henderson, Jonathan Sterritt, Yvonne Huff Lee, Frank Rossi, and Jason Delane Lee. Pushing the boundaries of life, after being misunderstood. Featuring Chef Josey from Master Chef 11
MasterChef season 11 contestant Chef Josey Erin (Co-Host) and I talked about how the show helped to push her boundaries to another level, which helped to create her unique menu. Her ghost restaurant located in Buffalo NY operates out Massachusetts Avenue Project (MAP) facility, which is a nonprofit urban farm located on Buffalo's West Side. Her specialties are Eggrolls and Tacos, however, they're not traditional. She takes fine dining, family-style foods, and desserts to another level, by compacting them into eggroll & taco-sized feasts. Not only is she creating works of art for your stomach, but she also has the best names to describe her foods like (Touchy Feely which is a turkey taco, or Buffalo 716 chicken eggroll)  We all have unique stories on our WHYs and Chef Josey shared with us, a different perspective of misunderstood foods like zucchini & squash and why she has them tattooed on her arms. Chef Josey feels that she can relate to these vegetables as she's been misunderstood her entire life. The featured song that Chef Josey chose was "Roll Out" by Ludacris. She felt it described her business slogan " Come see how we roll" and her life.   Ludacris Fun Fact: He still owns the first car that he ever bought, which is a 1993 Acura Legend    If you like the Podcast, please help US out and hit the Subscribe button. It's ALLRIGHT to take a new path, on a road never seen

It's ALLRIGHT to take a new path, on a road never seen
We've all heard the saying, the only constant in life is change. So with that being said, are you emotionally & mentally prepared for the unknown? In this episode we will focus on moving forward through life, on those unforeseen new paths that WILL occur.  We used the song "Alright" by Ledisi to best describe how life may seem unfair and not to our advantage, but with the right tools (music), spirit (faith) and network (love one's)  its going to be ALRIGHT. Our two talented featured guest were Naila Ansari & Zhanna Reed who both were a major part in the play, ONCE ON THIS ISLAND in Buffalo NY at Shea's 710. This musical is by one of our community’s shinning stars, Naila Ansari in her directorial debut.  Ansari’s direction and choreography of this Calypso-flavored tale of love in a world of prejudice, delivers a captivating musical thoroughly rooted in African and Caribbean dance. It is clear that she cares deeply about how Black stories are not only told, but visually presented as she directs a large and very skilled cast of actors from Buffalo and out of town through a rhythmic storytelling journey of movement, song and Joyous energy which Ansari is known for.  The costumes are a never-ending waterfall of colorful designs by the extraordinarily talented Phylicia Dove of Black Monarchy. Phylicia’s creations add both value to the vibration of this musical and more authenticity to Ansari’s vision and adaptation of this must-see. (Article from the Buffalo Challenger Newspaper) Actress Zhanna Reed who plays the main character (Ti Moune) sings and dances like no other, like being on Pluto and Mars at the same damn time "Future voice." “The production of “Once on this Island” at Shea’s 710 Main is sensational. Joyful and fresh, with direction and choreography by Naila Ansari, and musical direction by Karen Saxon, every number both stands alone and serves to accelerate the momentum and tension of the passionate story.” - Anthony Chase the buffalo news. Fun Fact about Ledisi: She still gets nervous when celebrities attend her show. It happened when she performed at the white for Obama and Stevie wonder was in attendance. Culinary Creative Coach
The song that our featured guest choose this week was "I want candy" By Bow Wow Woo. She felt it was a great song to describe the fall season with Halloween steady approaching.  Christa Glennie has spent most of her professional life as a food writer and editor at various Buffalo publications, including her current stint at Buffalo Spree magazine. The author of two cookbooks, Christa also writes for national publications including Food and Wine and USA Today. More than a writer, Christa has spent more than a decade connecting Buffalo chefs. She developed connections to the James Beard House in NYC, to the farms and farmers of Western New York, and to other chefs via a series of industry nights and cooking competitions, as well as conferences here in Buffalo and in Toronto. Fun Fact about the song "I want candy" by Bow Wow Wow is that, the song isn’t actually about “Candy” but is written about a woman named “Candy Johnson” and her bodacious body/dance moves.
