What I Struggled With My First 2 Years into My Hand Therapy Clinic
Hand Therapy Clinic Challenges & Roadblocks In this insightful podcast episode, I share and reflect on the challenges I faced two years into running my own  hand therapy clinic. I share my journey of transitioning from a clinical expert to a business owner and the struggles I encountered along the way. Despite having a strong foundation in hand therapy, I realized that running a clinic required a different set of skills, particularly in marketing and business operations.https://handtherapysecrets.com/business-skills/ I go over  the initial belief that I only had a marketing problem. I describe the cycle of filling my schedule through marketing efforts but then getting too busy to continue marketing, resulting in inconsistent patient flow. However, I encourntered a more significant issue: the challenge of hiring and managing staff as the clinic grew. This podcast delves into the solo entrepreneur mindset and the initial tendency to wear all hats in the business, from treating patients to handling marketing. I discuss the need to shift from this mindset and invest in developing business skills to ensure long-term success. Drawing from personal experiences, I share how hiring the wrong people led to doubts about the viability of my business. I emphasize the importance of investing in oneself, both in terms of learning business skills and seeking coaching. The turning point for me was discovering the book "The E-Myth," which challenged my assumptions about entrepreneurship. I realized the need to invest not just in clinical skills but also in business education, marketing, and other aspects crucial for sustained growth. I encourage my fellow occupational therapists and business owners to assess their current struggles and invest in the necessary skills to propel their businesses forward. she shares personal anecdotes, insights, and practical advice for those navigating the challenges of entrepreneurship in the healthcare field. How To Start An Online OT Business
How To Stary You Own OT Business Oline  Are you an occupational therapist wondering how to kickstart your own online business or online course? In this video, I'm Hoang Tran, a certified hand therapist and occupational therapist, and I'm here to share my journey on how I established my OT online business.https://handtherapysecrets.com/business-skills/ Over a decade ago, I began with a physical clinic. However, I realized that finding certified hand therapists or those trained in hand therapy was a significant challenge. Many were seeking experienced professionals, and I didn't have extensive experience. Still, my passion for teaching persisted. Initially, I aspired to teach at a university, even taking some courses. I eventually became an adjunct professor and then proposed creating a splinting course. This experience kickstarted my journey, and I believe if you have expertise in a specific area, you can grow an online business tailored to your niche. The possibilities are vast. Whether you want to help people with specific conditions like rheumatoid arthritis, offer yoga services in conjunction with OT, or focus on hand injuries like I do, there's ample room for innovation and growth in the online OT world. Starting an OT online business involves sharing your knowledge and honing in on solving particular problems. For me, I started by sharing my expertise in splinting, gradually developing my Hand Therapy Secrets program. You'll need to create content, such as videos and blogs, and share consistently. Sharing what you know is essential to building trust and showcasing your abilities. It's crucial to understand your audience and adapt your course based on their needs. By sharing and interacting with your community, you'll discover what they require, which can lead to adjustments in your course content and structure. Don't start by developing a program and hoping people will buy it; first, establish your expertise and understand your audience's needs. So, to start your own OT online business, share your knowledge, engage with your community, and build trust by consistently offering valuable content. As you share, you'll gain insights that can shape your program to truly help your audience. Remember, the online world offers endless possibilities for occupational therapists to make a meaningful impact. If you have any questions or need more guidance, please leave them in the comments. Thanks for listening and stay tuned for more valuable content. Don't forget to leave a rating on my podcast.   Start Working with Hoang Today!     g with Hoang Today!

How I Quit My Full Time Job & Started My Own Therapy Clinic

How I Quit My Full Time Job & Started My Own Therapy Clinic
How to Build Your Own OT Clinic! How I went from a frustrated Occupational Therapist wondering if I had picked the right career path, to having an amazing career and running two companies that support occupational therapy in different ways. I have a Great Resource for you if you want to Make the Money You Deserve! Before becoming a business owner. Before becoming a Certified Hand Therapist… I was that new Occupational Therapist graduate looking for a way to get a job in hand therapy because it was a goal of mine to become a Certified Hand Therapist. But I kept hearing the same thing…”we need someone with experience”. But how can I get experience without the job? It wasn’t like I opened my clinic doors and there was a line of patients waiting to be treated by me JUST because I was a Certified Hand Therapist. It wasn’t like every hand surgeon would send me patients because they just loved the results that I got their patients. Long hours trying to develop more skills – from therapy to business skills. Days wondering if I had made a mistake with endless amounts of self doubt. Nights worrying that I am doing a disservice to my family and kids who were supposed to have more time with me. But when the patients did start coming in, and the phone was ringing off the hook…who was going to help me? The final straw was when I was trying to go on vacation and I had no occupational therapist who could step in with the skills that I needed. When I had no certified hand therapist with the confidence to treat complex cases… I needed to take a stand!https://handtherapysecrets.com/business-skills/
