EP-330 | Zac Brown’s Camp Southern Ground
In 2011, with the belief that his musical talent was given for the purpose of putting more good into the world, GRAMMY award-winning artist Zac Brown purchased 400 acres of farmland in Fayetteville, Georgia and built a world-class facility dedicated to serving youth and veterans. Camp Southern Ground's programs are founded on Zac’s own experiences and beliefs. Growing up as a camper and then counselor, Zac has seen first-hand that summer camp has the power to transform a child’s life. Also a staunch supporter of America’s active-duty and veteran servicemembers, Zac believes it is our obligation to honor and care for the men and women who have protected our freedom and kept this country safe. We are joined by Chris and Jake of Zac Brown's Camp Southern Ground on this episode that was taped at Line Creek Brewing Co. in Fayetteville, GA _______________ Please leave us a review on Apple/Spotify Podcasts: Apple: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/mentors-for-military-podcast/id1072421783 Spotify: https://open.spotify.com/show/3w4RiZBxBS8EDy6cuOlbUl #Zac Brown #Camp Southern Ground #combat #mentors4mil   #mentorsformilitary Mentors4mil Links: Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/Mentors4mil Patreon Support: https://www.patreon.com/join/Mentors4mil  Mentors4mil Shop: https://www.youtube.com/c/MentorsforMilitary/store Guest Links:  Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/campsouthernground Website: https://www.campsouthernground.com

EP-325 | Brigands | By Any Means Necessary
By Any Means Necessary is how these men live their lives daily. The word "BRIGAND"
is defined in the dictionary as a member of a gang that ambushes and robs people in forests and mountains, and it is known by many within special operations as something associated with the 75th Ranger Regiment.  Brothers Dylan and Connor Curtis are former U.S. Army Rangers from 1st Battalion, 75th Ranger Regiment who founded Brigands Co. and was later joined by RJ Casey, a U.S. Army Special Forces (Green Beret), Ranger, and USAF Pararescueman. Between the three of them, they have countless combat deployments to Afghanistan, Colombia, Iraq, Pakistan, the Philippines, Somalia, and Syria.  In this episode, we sit down with Dylan and RJ to not only discuss their incredible careers in the the Army and Air Forces within special operations, we get into what this company does as consultants to a wide array of areas, including medical support, personal recovery, training, film and television script consultation, military advisors, stunts, writers, and rescue safety coordinators on set. RJ Casey has worked on multiple films, including the very popular Amazon Prime original, "Jack Ryan", the movie "Dunkirk", "The Dark Night Rises", "Inception", "Terminator Salvation", and "We Were Soldiers" to name a few.  Brigands Co. was founded as an outlet for a continued pursuit of excellence, and a way to use their experience across a range of industries. They live “service before self” and their motto is “by any means necessary”.

EP-316 | Trapped by Terrorists - Meyli Chapin
On January of 2019, Meyli Chapin was trapped in a hotel room in the DusitD2 in Nairobi for seventeen long hours while Al-Shabaab terrorists attacked the property. She was completely alone, and certain she was going to die. However, thanks to the incomprehensibly brave men who fought to get us out, led by now-retired UK SAS (Special Air Service) operator Christian Craighead, hundreds were extracted to safety. After the attack, though, PTSD made Meyli so miserable that she started to wish she had died after all. Aside from the terrorist attack itself, PTSD is the hardest thing she have ever dealt with in her life. In this episode, we'll discuss her book which covers the in-depth retelling of the attack, combined with her personal journal entries about PTSD afterward. It's a true story about trauma. About how dark and ugly it can be. Because the unfortunate truth is: the vast majority of us will experience a traumatic event in our lives. "But when I was lying on the floor sobbing, unable to leave my apartment but also unable to sleep, wishing that I had died in that terrorist attack, I didn’t know that. I thought that I was uniquely traumatized, and uniquely weak. I could think of so many stories of incredible, resilient, practically superhuman people who had overcome all manner of horrible things. Why couldn’t I?" Taped at 15 Perry Street. Buy Terrorist Attack Girl: How I Survived Terrorism and Reconstructed My Shattered Mind by Meyli Chapin on Amazon.  https://www.mentorsformilitary.com
