Narrated by Kumar Varun. In this episode, Indra's pride leads him to disrespect Brihaspati, causing the wise sage to leave in silence. With Brihaspati gone, Indra's power fades, prompting the gods to seek a new preceptor, Visvarupa. Despite Visvarupa's guidance helping the gods, Indra kills him due to suspicions of disloyalty, causing severe consequences for the world. Twashta, Visvarupa's father, creates Vritra to avenge his son. A great battle ensues, and with Vishnu's help, Indra defeats Vritra using deceit, leading to shame and his subsequent hiding. The gods, leaderless, convince King Nahusha to take Indra’s place, granting him extraordinary powers to lead them. Source, Bibliography and Suggested further reading : 1. Vyasa, Maharishi.
