Included in this discussion is the lukewarm nature of EDM beef, why dance music figures are still not seen as serious as those in other genres, which DJ’s laid the groundwork for being a vocal personality, if an artist’s voice has more value than their music these days, the case for John Summit being a solid face for the US scene, lowering our expectations of DJ’s as role models, and the extremely subjective nature of having a “platform.”
