The south wind came and made the sailors believe they could make it. However, the wind turned after setting sail, and a strong storm came. During the storm, Paul stood up and spoke a word from God. By this time, they had lost all control and hope and were preparing to abandon ship. Paul spoke again and told them to stay with the ship. This time they trusted Paul and God he believed in. The bible says they committed themselves to the sea. To the world, that sounds like casting their lives to fate, but God controls those winds and those waves.
Some of us find ourselves in this situation. We set out and encounter a storm and consider abandoning the ship. But our only chance of survival is staying with the boat and standing with the one who controls the storm.
