The Minnesota Wild pulled away from the Seattle Kraken in the second and third periods as they muscled their way to a 5-1 win over Seattle at Xcel Energy Center Monday night. The Kraken controlled play in the first period yet trailed as Jake Middleton scored his third goal of the year to give the Wild a 1-0 lead. The Wild added two more goals in the second as Matt Boldy recorded his 9th and 10th goals in the last 11 games to make it 3-0. Boldy completed the hat trick within the first minute of the third to make it 4-0. Ryan Hartman added a goal to make it 5-0, and Seattle capped the scoring with a goal from Jaden Schwartz to make it 5-1. Marc-Andre Fleury stopped 35 of 36 shots as the Wild improved to 6-1-2 without Kirill Kaprizov. The Wild are at Colorado on Wednesday for their next game. The Minnesota Wild picked up a 3-1 win over Chicago to improve to 14-1-4 over their last 19 games, and to temporarily pull back into first place in the Central Division with 93 points. The game was scoreless until Ryan Reaves sent a shot on net that deflected in to give the Wild a 1-0 lead. The Blackhawks would answer early in the third, as Lukas Reichel scored on a 2 on 1 to make it 1-1. Ryan Hartman scored with time winding down in regulation on a breakaway after generating a turnover to give the Wild a 2-1 lead and Freddy Gaudreau added an empty net goal to seal the scoring. The Minnesota Wild fell 5-4 in a shootout to the Philadelphia Flyers. The Wild trailed 1-0 midway through a lackluster 1st period before Oskar Sundvqist tipped a goal in to tie the score at 1-1. The Flyers would answer back early on in the 2nd to make it 2-1, before the Wild scored 2 straight goals from Matt Boldy and Marcus Foligno to make it 3-2. The Flyers tied the score at 3 on a Power Play goal in the final minute of the second period. The Wild reclaimed the lead on Matt Boldy's 2nd goal of the night but the Flyers answered less than a minute later to tie things at 4. After no score in Overtime, the Flyers got the lone shootout goal as Carter Hart stopped Mats Zuccarello, Freddy Gaudreau and Matt Boldy to seal the win. The Minnesota Wild collected a 2-1 overtime win over the New Jersey Devils Tuesday as Matt Boldy collected his first career overtime goal. Boldy scored with time winding down as the Wild temporarily moved into 1st place in the Central Division with 90 points. The Wild broke the scoring open in the third after two very physical periods that saw no goals. Mason Shaw scored to make it 1-0, but Timo Meier scored a wraparound goal to tie the score at 1-1. The Wild controlled the puck through most of overtime, and after a Meier shot rang off the post, Boldy took it the rest of the way to seal the win. Filip Gustavsson made 47 saves in the win, as the Wild head to Philadelphia on Thursday for their next game. The Minnesota Wild picked up a 5-3 win over Washington at Xcel Energy Center. Matt Boldy scored his first two goals of the game within the first five minutes of the game as the Wild took an early 2-0 lead. After the Capitals scored on the Power Play to cut the lead to 2-1, Ryan Reaves added his third goal in four games on a deflected shot from Ryan Hartman to make it 3-1. Brandon Duhaime scored a Power Play goal in his return to the lineup to make it 4-1, and after the Capitals added another Alex Ovechkin goal, Matt Boldy scored on a breakaway to cap the hat trick. The Capitals scored with time winding down and Boldy NEARLY connected on an empty netter for what would have been his 4th goal of the night, but the Wild prevailed and improved to 12-1-3 in their last 16 games. The Wild are at New Jersey for their next game on Tuesday. The Minnesota Wild saw their 14 game point streak come to an end after a 5-2 loss to Boston Saturday at Xcel Energy Center. The Wild led 1-0 briefly as Marcus Johansson scored his second goal with the Wild on a nice feed from Matt Boldy. The Bruins tied the score at 1-1, but the Wild looked to have a 2-1 lead on a goal from Matt Dumba, but it was was challenged for offsides and the goal was wiped off the board. The Bruins took a 2-1 lead of their own and the Wild appeared to have the tying goal from Matt Boldy, but the Bruins again challenged and the goal was waived off. The Bruins then scored to make it 3-1. The Wild scored on the Power Play to make it 3-2 on a goal from Oskar Sundqvist, but the Bruins would add two more goals for their 52nd win of the year. The Wild play Washington tomorrow at Xcel Energy Center. The Minnesota Wild saw their point streak increased to 13 straight games, but blew a 2 goal lead and fell 5-4 in overtime to the Arizona Coyotes. The Wild fell behind 1-0 early, before Mats Zuccarello scored to even the score at 1. After another Arizona goal, Ryan Reaves tied things up with under 2 minutes to play in the first period. Matt Boldy gave the Wild a 3-2 lead in the second on a breakaway goal on a nice feed from John Klingberg. Connor Dewar added a goal to make it 4-2 before Arizona closed the gap heading into the 3rd. Clayton Keller scored to tie the game with 8 minutes to play and then won it in overtime. Filip Gustavsson stopped 18 of 23 shots. The Wild are at St. Louis on Wednesday in their next game.
