Once a spy managed to enter into the Vijayanagar kingdom and disguised himself as a saint to steal courtroom secrets and pass them on. When Tenali found out about this, he managed to teach the spy a lesson. But King Krishnadev was not aware of this and he thought that Tenali had intentionally hurt a saint and hence he asked him to be left in the ground to die. But Tenali being Tenali, managed to find a way out of this tricky situation.
