Flying solo on a Friday, host Shawn Drotar (@sdrotar) looks at four games with varying betting opportunities – and an eye on combining them into a parlay that could start the weekend off right. In Tampa Bay, the playoff-bound Lightning hosts the offseason-bound Chicago Blackhawks; the Lightning are in a tightly fought battle for positioning in the Eastern Conference and need to keep winning. The Blackhawks can start setting tee times, and when that kind of matchup occurs, blowouts often follow. Lightning blueliner Victor Hedman had a pair of goals in their last matchup; is he set to strike again? Next, rivals clash in New York when the Islanders visit the Rangers. The Rangers are the better team, but the Islanders haven’t had a bad season, and in these kind of rivalries, all bets are off – about who wins, at least. That’s why Shawn looks at the over/under instead. In the most important matchup of the night, two third-place teams collide when the St. Louis Blues travel to Edmonton to face the high-scoring Oilers. The over/under is in play again, even though the bar is set high. Finally, the Vegas Golden Knights have kept their playoff hopes alive with a timely, three-game winning streak. Trailing Dallas by a single point for the final wild-card spot in the West, it’s obvious that Vegas needs this one. It becomes even more obvious when one notes that the Stars have three games in hand – it’s desperation time for the Golden Knights.
