Test The Spirits (Daily Devotional)

Test The Spirits (Daily Devotional)
Greetings and welcome to Living Supernaturally. Thank you so much once again for giving us this opportunity to spend time in God’s presence and His word as well. This week, we’ve been talking about God’s will. Today, we will look at test the spirits. 1 John chapter 4, verse 1, ‘Dear friends, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world.’ This week, we have reflected on submitting to God that we can discern how to live by His will. Here, John helps us remember that we need to test all the words, voices and messages we hear to see whether they are from God. John warned against believing every spirit, that is we are to never assume that every spiritual experience or demonstration of spiritual power is from God. We test spiritual experiences and phenomena to see if in fact they are from God. False spirits and their false teachings can cause us to stray away from fully depending on God but we do not stand alone. As we face challenges of preserving in faith alongside the word of God and the Holy Spirit, we have pastors, leaders, teachers and friends who can help us test the spirits. As believers, we have been given communities of faith to help and encourage us and to be ready in turn to receive our help as well. Although the early church had a strong life, a large measure of purity, John still knew the danger of false prophets and their messages that was real to the early church. Christians are to be discerning hearers and readers of all messages. The reason for this admonition to test the spirit or to test all things is that there were many false prophets or wolves in sheep’s clothing that tried to take believers astray. False teachings leave people in a false hope of salvation and in a way takes them from the true message. The test is to compare what is being taught is clear with the bible. The bible alone is the word of God. It alone is inspired and inerrant. Therefore, the way to test the spirits is to see whether what is being taught is in line with the word of God. What fruit does the spirit produce? Is it in accordance to the scripture? Does the spirit glorify God? Do the spirits build up the body of Christ? Is there insight from the Holy Spirit? These are questions we can ask ourselves. We thank God for the word of God that we can rely on. Let’s pray, Father, we thank you for your word and what we have learnt today. You have exhorted us to test every spirit. We pray that even as we hear and learn, that we will learn also to discern what is right and wrong and to test every spirit. We thank you for enabling us to do this. Grant us your wisdom, in Jesus’s name we pray, Amen. The Power Of Patience (Daily Devotional)

The Power Of Patience (Daily Devotional)
Greetings once again and welcome to Living Supernaturally. Thank you so much for giving us this opportunity to spend time in God’s word and a few moments in prayer. This week, we’ve been pondering on God’s will for our lives. Today, we will look at the power of patience. Proverbs chapter 16, verse 32, ‘Better a patient person than a warrior.’ Some of us by nature may not be patient. Perhaps, it was missing a connecting flight by two minutes, having to stay at the airport for another day, standing in line at the supermarket or even a traffic signal. Lot of experiences have reminded us that our time table isn’t governed by us anymore but by God. But is patience really important and why does patience matter? It is not that God loiters or wastes Hi time. Whether it is the fulness of time in sending His Son or the moment when Christ returns again, God’s timing is impeccable. Can we trust that the one who sets the cosmic calendar can bring His sense of timing into our own lives? From Proverbs, we can see that the strength of the patient person exceeds that of a warrior. Waiting for God is tougher than taking matters into your own hands. What does patience look like in action? Patience doesn’t complain or murmur about the circumstances. Patience doesn’t act in haste. Patience develops perseverance and perseverance; hope and hope doesn’t disappoint. By waiting patiently, we are developing godly character and allowing the fruits of the Spirit to develop more fully in each of our lives. When we are waiting patiently, we are to continue to praise and thank God. We do not give up on the vision that God gave us. We do not let go of the promise. Thankfully, patience is one of the fruits of the Spirit that is already inside of us. It is a free gift from God given to us when we were born again. All we have to do is tap into it and begin to exercise it like a muscle and that patience will grow stronger in you. Let patience have her perfect work so that we lack nothing. Therefore, be patient and trust God and He is indeed going to bring it to pass. Time is not your enemy; it is your friend. God is well able to preserve you by renewing your youth like the eagles so that when He brings it to pass, you are just as strong and energetic as before. God did this with Joshua and Caleb, they were forty years old when it was time to take the promised land. However, because of the unbelief of the Israelites, they were unable to get in. Therefore, God simply preserved their bodies so that for the next forty years, when it was time to take the land, it was as though their bodies hadn’t aged. At eighty years of age, they were just as strong and healthy as they were when they were forty. Time mixed with faith and patience will help build you in strength, in character and wisdom. Fulfilling the will of God for our lives is not a one-time event but a process. It will require faith and patient endurance. When you start in faith, you must continue in faith. Let’s pray, Father, we thank you for your word and the fruit of the Spirit is patience. I pray that each one of us will be patient to understand that you are in control over our lives. Even as we wait, we wait with great joy knowing that you are working in our waiting, that you will fulfill every plan and purpose that you have for our lives. We thank you; we give you all the praise and glory, in Jesus’ name we pray, Amen. The Tongue (Daily Devotional)
1w ago
The Tongue (Daily Devotional)
Greetings and thank you for joining us throughout this week, we’ve been reminding ourselves about declaring the word. In closing off this week, I want to remind us of what James wrote in James chapter 3 about the tongue. In verses 3 to 6, he said, ‘Indeed, we put bits in horses’ mouths that they may obey us, and we turn their whole body. Look also at ships: although they are so large and are driven by fierce winds, they are turned by a very small rudder wherever the pilot desires. Even so the tongue is a little member and boasts great things. See how great a forest a little fire kindles! And the tongue is a fire, a world of iniquity. The tongue is so set among our members that it defiles the whole body, and sets on fire the course of nature; and it is set on fire by hell.’ James reminds us about the power of the tongue. He says, just as you control a ship with a small rudder, a horse with a bit in its mouth or a little fire can destroy a great forest, that is how powerful our tongue is, that means our words can speak. He is talking about an evil tongue that is influenced by hell. This kind of tongue defiles a whole body and destroys our whole future. But you flip that around and say, if my tongue is set on fire by the word of God, that kind of a tongue will bless my whole body and it will bless the whole course of my life and it will direct my life into the very things of God, into the things that God’s word has spoken. So, intentionally use your tongue to speak the word, the things God has said about you, so you bless your whole body, your life, your present, your future, you set on fire the course of your whole life wit the word of God. You direct and you steer your life into the very promises of God by consistently speaking the word. Do what God said. It may seem very simple and foolish sometime but this is the God’s word and we live by it. Declare the word! Let your tongue speak His word. Let the word of our mouth, meditations of our heart always be acceptable to the Lord our God, our redeemer. Let’s pray, Father, we ask that you will help us keep your word in our mouth and always declare your promises and speak what you have spoken concerning us, to say what you’ve said about us. We thank you that your word will be fulfilled in our lives, in Jesus’ name, Amen. The Sword of the Spirit (Daily Devotional)
10-10-2024
The Sword of the Spirit (Daily Devotional)
Greetings and thank you for this opportunity yet again to come to you today, spend a few moments in prayer and the word of God. This week, we are talking about declaring the word, the importance of us saying what God has said, what the bible says about us. In Ephesians chapter 6, verse 17, the apostle Paul teaches us that as we are engaging in conflict with principalities, powers and spiritual forces of darkness, he says, ‘take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.’ As believers, we have to actively, intentionally use the sword of the Holy Spirit and what is it? It is the word of God. What must I do with the word? I must speak His word. We see in the book of Revelation that the sword of the word comes forth out of the mouth of the Lord Jesus, it comes out of His mouth and we see that exemplified for us in the Lord Jesus and we just practice the same thing. The sword of the word of God comes forth out of our mouth when we speak the word, we are actually releasing or using the sword of the Spirit, that means the Holy Spirit goes into operation now, it is His sword, but I’m using it by speaking the word of God. The Holy Spirit is the one who is going to take that word effective in our life. So, imagine what a weapon we have, when you declare the word, you are releasing the sword of the Spirit against the enemy. When you find the enemy come against you to rob your peace, joy, cause fear and anxiety or try to affect your body, mind, circumstances, situations, family etc., you see the enemy trying to do this, take out your sword, speak and declare the word, it is the sword of the Spirit against the enemy. The enemy will retreat, he can’t stand against that sword, that double-edged, powerful sword will never return to God empty. So, speak the word. Use your sword, your God given sword against the enemy. Let’s pray, Father, we thank you for the power of your word and the sword, it is the sword of the Spirit, that as we speak the word, it is a powerful weapon going against the enemy, a double-edged sword that will cause the enemy to retreat and cause us to walk in victory, in Jesus’ name, Amen. Speak Your Faith (Daily Devotional)

Speak Your Faith (Daily Devotional)
Greetings and always a joy to come to you and spend a few moments in God’s word and prayer. Thank you for tuning in to these daily devotionals, tell others about it and encourage them to join us every day as we spend a few moments in God’s word. This week, we are talking about/ reminding ourselves about the importance of declaring the word. The Lord Jesus also taught us the importance of faith and speaking our faith. I will reference one passage here in Mark chapter 11, verses 22 and 23, where Jesus said, ‘have faith in God.’ Then He went on to say, ‘For assuredly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be removed and be cast into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that those things he says will be done, he will have whatever he says.’ We need to take the words of our Lord Jesus very seriously. He said, have faith in God and right after that He is talking to us about the words we speak. It says, you speak to the mountain, tell it to move, don’t doubt in your heart, you believe that whatever you are saying will come to pass and you will have what you say. Look at how He connects having faith in God, believing in our heart and speaking words with our mouth. Speaking to things in this realm, the mountain, telling it to move, talking about obstacles and challenges in our way, speaking to things in this realm out of faith in our hearts. There is an important lesson to learn that the faith we have in our heart to God must be released through the words we speak with our mouth and we speak that faith to the things that we are declaring with. You believe God will provide, so you speak to your need and say, my God will supply all my needs according to His riches. You believe that God will heal us, speak to sickness and say, by His stripes, I have been healed, my body is a healed body. You speak to circumstances, my God has provided shalom for me, everything in my life will be in shalom, I command the winds and waves to cease. So, you speak to the things in this world, out of a faith filled heart, believing His promises. This is what the Lord Jesus taught us to do and if you are ignoring what He taught us to do, what else are you going to do? Who else are you going to listen to? I’d rather listen to Jesus and practice what He taught us to practice. I will speak my faith, have faith in God and speak to the mountains because Jesus taught us to do that. Declare His word and speak your faith. Let’s pray, Father, we thank you for your word and for all that you’ve taught us to do and we will practice what you’ve taught us to do, in Jesus’ name, Amen. Life or Death (Daily Devotional)

Life or Death (Daily Devotional)
Greetings and thank you for the opportunity to come to you today. As always, it’s a joy to be able to spend these few moments in God’s word and prayer. This week, we are talking about declaring the word. We are just reminding ourselves the importance of saying what God has said, speaking His word with our mouth, over our own lives, over our present and future, in every circumstance and situation. In Proverbs chapter 18, verses 20 and 21, ‘A man’s stomach (that means his innermost being) shall be satisfied from the fruit of his mouth (that means the words you speak are going to affect your innermost being); From the produce of his lips, he shall be filled (that means the words that come out of your mouth are actually going to come back to your life). Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it will eat its fruit.’ That means, if you speak life, your innermost being and your whole life is going to be filled with life and blessing. But if you speak death, your innermost being and your whole life is going to be filled with things that produce death, understand that! God has said that the words we speak impact us. We think that our words are harmless and it doesn’t matter but your words affect you, it affects your innermost being, it affects your whole life. Life and death are in the power of the tongue. So, what would be good words to speak? Of course, speak the promises of God, say what God has said. In every situation, you say this is what God has said. So, you are filing your innermost being and life with the word and you say God’s word will come to pass in my present and future. I’m not settling for anything less. Whatever promise God has given that is the promise I’m going to walk in and see fulfilled in my present and future. I want to fill my life with the things God has said I can have and I can walk in. So, I will keep speaking the promises of God knowing that by the fruit of my mouth, my innermost being is affected and my life is filled with the words that come out of my mouth. Keep declaring His word. Let’s pray, Father, thank you for the insights and instructions you’ve given us. Help us to live by these things, to keep speaking your word so that our present and future will be saturated with the word of God, that is what we will walk in and experience the promises of God fulfilled, in Jesus’ name, Amen. When God spoke to Joshua in Joshua chapter 1, verse 8 as he was about to embark on his life assignment, God gave him one very important, clear instruction in Joshua chapter 1, verse 8, He said, ‘This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth.’ In other words, keep the words of this book always in your mouth. You meditate in it day and night, live by it, observe to do all that is written in it and then you will make your way prosperous and have good success. One of the things that God instructs Johsua is to keep His word in his mouth. You keep meditating it, keep doing it and you will have success and be prosperous in your life assignment. That is a principle that we employ in our lives today, that we keep His word in our mouth, that means, we declare His word, say what God has said, declare His promises over our life, declare everything God has promised for us, we keep His word in our mouth. Let the words of God be the words of your mouth. Let His word reside in your mouth. You speak His word in every situation and circumstance, when it is good, bad, easy, hard, all kinds of situations in life, we keep speaking that word, keep mediating in that word, keep doing that word and God said, you will prosper and be successful. That is a principle in the bible, something we should live by. I want to encourage us, let’s follow God’s instruction, keep His word in your mouth, declare His word in every situation. I’m more than a conqueror through Christ who loved me. My God always causes me to triumph in Christ. Through my God, I shall do valiantly. My God never leaves me nor forsakes me. My God says I’m an overcomer and I overcome. So, declare God’s word. Let’s pray, Father, we ask that you help us in very situation to keep your word in our mouth, to say what you said, declare your unfailing promises and to know that you will watch over your word to fulfill it in our lives, in Jesus’ name, Amen. The Word is Near You (Daily Devotional)

The Word is Near You (Daily Devotional)
Greetings and thank you for the opportunity to come to you today and spend this time with you in God’s word and prayer. This week, we are talking about declaring the word, we are just reminding ourselves. If you’ve been part of All People church, this is something we constantly encourage people and remind people often of and this is coming as another reminder of what we always do, that we must declare the word of God. In the Old Testament passage in Deuteronomy chapter 30, verses 11 to 14, God is teaching His people something very important. He says, ‘For this commandment which I command you today is not too mysterious for you, nor is it far off.’ That means, the word I’m giving you is not something very difficult to understand or far away. ‘It is not in heaven, that you should say, ‘Who will ascend into heaven for us and bring it to us, that we may hear it and do it?’ Nor is it beyond the sea, that you should say, ‘Who will go over the sea for us and bring it to us, that we may hear it and do it?’ But the word is very near you, in your mouth and in your heart, that you may do it.’ What God is saying is, my word is there, it is in your mouth and heart. It is in your heart for you to believe it. It is in your mouth for you to say it. When you believe it and say it, you have my word right there next to you and you can go forward and do it and experience the rich blessing of His word. What is so interesting is that apostle Paul quotes this passage in Romans chapter 10. He says the righteousness of faith speaks in line with this principle, that means we, who have received righteousness through faith, he is talking about us in Romans chapter 10, verses 6 to 10. We speak in line to these principles; we are also engaging and applying this principle. The word is near us and then he says, we don’t say who is going to bring Jesus from heaven or who is going to raise Him up from the dead? No! We have got the word. So, what do we do? We believe that word in our heart and we confess/ declare that word with our mouth. He says, when you believe it in your heart, it brings righteousness, it positions you in the right place/ standing before God. When you confess/ declare that word, it brings salvation, you experience the work of God in your life. So, Paul is giving us additional insight. He says, when you believe that word, you are putting yourself right where God wants you to be, in a place of righteousness and then when you say that word, you are positioning yourself to receive the fulfillment of that word and experience the work of God. So, understand the importance of it. Don’t speak hopelessness, don’t speak despair, oh God, it is so far away, how is He going to come and work in my life? He has given you His word, believe it and speak it, declare His word. Let’s pray, Father, we ask you will help us believe your word and speak your word knowing that as we do so, we will see your salvation and your work in our lives, in Jesus’ name, Amen. Call Yourself According To His Word (Daily Devotional)

Call Yourself According To His Word (Daily Devotional)
Greetings and thank you for the opportunity to come to you this week and spend some time in God’s word and prayer with you. This week, we are going to remind us of a simple truth that we see in both the Old and the New Testament about declaring/ speaking God’s word. We are going to be only looking at certain passages whereas there are many more passages that teach us about the importance of speaking/ declaring the word and I refer to a free book from APC that is called speak your faith where we consider many of these scriptures. But this week is just a reminder of the importance of speaking God’s word. I want to begin this week by looking at how God worked in the life of Abraham and Sarah. After God called them and declared His promise over them and said, I’m going to make you a father of a multitude, you are going to have this big nation come out of you, time had elapsed. In Genesis chapter 17, verses 4 and 5, verses 15 and 16, God comes to Abraham and He specifically tells him that, ‘My covenant is with you, and you shall be a father of many nations. No longer shall your name be called Abram, but your name shall be Abraham; for I have made you a father of many nations.’ Similarly, in verse 15, He says about Sarai, ‘As for Sarai your wife, you shall not call her name Sarai, but Sarah shall be her name. And I will bless her and also give you a son by her; then I will bless her, and she shall be a mother of nations; kings of peoples shall be from her.’ It is very interesting that God would do something like this. God is very intentional; it is not a mistake or accident but very intentional. God is basically in a sense saying, Abraham, I want you to start calling yourself according to what I said you would be or according to my promise. Call yourself as a father of a multitude, call your wife as a mother of princess or many great people coming out of her. That is a very important principle. The apostle Paul looks back at this in Romans chapter 4, verse 17, he says, look, even God taught Abraham to call things that were not as though they were, that means they didn’t exist. Abraham and Sarah didn’t have a son yet, they were not the father of anybody, yet but they are calling themselves as parents of a great nation. They are calling things that don’t exist as though they were because God had spoken. That is an important principle, our God is teaching us to do that. This is not lying but speaking according to God’s word. While we don’t deny the reality the experience we are going through/ circumstances and challenges we are facing. We are choosing to say, God has said something which may not be there yet in my life but I’m going to speak according to that. That is the challenge for us and that is what God wants us to do. Call ourselves according to His promises and word. In sickness, call yourself healed. In battles, call yourself victorious. In challenges, call yourself an overcomer. In difficulties, call yourself a blessed person because that is what God has said in His word about you. Declare the word! Let’s pray, Father, we thank you that you will give us the strength to keep our eyes focused on your holy word and to say what your word says about ourselves, our present and future, in Jesus’ name, Amen. What We Have We Give (Daily Devotional)

What We Have We Give (Daily Devotional)
Greetings and welcome to Living Supernaturally. Thank you so much for joining us for this time. We’ve come to the last day of this week; we’ve been talking about healing. Today, we will look at what we have we give. Acts chapter 3, verse 6, ‘Silver or gold I do not have, but what I do have I give you. In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, walk.’ In this story, we see the apostles Peter and John going together to the temple to pray. The picture of devotion and community is contrasted with that of a beggar being carried to the temple gate called Beautiful every day and left there the whole day begging for bread. At busy intersections in cities today, we can sometimes see people holding signs asking for food or money. Though we may wonder if they are truthful about their situation. We all know what happens when we come across them. We usually avoid eye contact, looking at them but the apostles didn’t avoid eye contact. Our passage says, Peter looked straight at the man who was lame and even asked him to look at them. Expecting some coins of gold or silver, the man looked up but Peter’s next words would have been discouraging to the person who was begging. Peter says, silver or gold I do not have. But then came the words of healing, in the name of Jesus Christ, and beyond his wildest dreams, the man was able to walk and jump for joy. When faced with the lame beggar, Peter offers something better than money, he offers healing. He proved that healing through the name of Jesus, the name, the Greek word ‘onama’ is not just an identifier but it encompasses the essence of the person. In this case, Jesus’ character, sovereignty, authority, power and deity as God. Peter doesn’t use Jesus of Nazareth as a magic spell, he has faith in the person of Jesus, he has the power of the Holy Spirit, he has the authority from Jesus to heal, if it was Jesus’ purposes. So, he has the confidence that Jesus would heal and honor Peter’s words. Some may have faith that Jesus can grant what they ask but that doesn’t mean that they can superficially ask using Jesus’ name and get whatever they want. James warns us when he says, you do not receive because you ask wrongly to spend it on your passions. Others may have exterior motives but no faith, like the sons of Sceva who tried to exercise a demon by the name of Jesus who Paul preached but got beaten up. Part of praying in Jesus’ name means submitting to His purposes. John makes this clear when he says, if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us. Since we always don’t know Jesus’ will, it is enough to ask for what we think we need and trust that Jesus will take care of our need. Let us pray, Father, we thank you for this entire week where we were able to look at various ways that you ministered healing. We thank you that you are the same yesterday, today and forever. We believe that you have given us the authority to trample over snakes and scorpions. We pray that we will use this authority to receive healing in our lives, in our body, mind, soul and spirit. We commit ourselves to you, in Jesus’ name we pray, Amen. Thank you for tuning in to Living Supernaturally, for more resources to strengthen your spiritual walk, please visit apcwo.org. Help Me Believe! (Daily Devotional)

Help Me Believe! (Daily Devotional)
Greetings and welcome to Living Supernaturally. Thank you so much for giving us this opportunity to minister God’s word and spend these few moments in prayer. This week, we’ve been talking about the miracles of Jesus and today, we will look at Mark chapter 9, verses 23 and 24, ‘Everything is possible for one who believes.” Immediately the boy’s father exclaimed, “I do believe; help me overcome my unbelief!”’ This cry came from a man who was heartbroken over the state of his son. He was desperately hoping for Jesus’ disciples to bring healing over his son but when they couldn’t, this man began to feel doubt. The three disciples, Peter, James and John arrived back to what must have been a jolting scene after the beauty of the transfiguration. The disciples were unsuccessful in healing the boy who was possessed with an evil spirit. Jesus’ words, everything is possible for one who believes were both a gentle reprimand and a reminder that the man needed at that moment. The dominant theme in this passage is faith and doubt. Jesus’ initial response to hearing the boys condition expresses His disappointment and the lack of faith in His disciples. It appears that the only thing preventing the man’s son from being held is his faith and he realizes that he has already betrayed a lack of faith. He wants to express faith but at the same time be genuine. So, the man says, I do believe, help me overcome my unbelief. Becoming stronger in our faith is a lifelong process. The great news is that we are not expected to mature overnight. God will do the work in our hearts but we have an important part to play through this. What the man says here can sound contradictory, he claims to believe yet confesses to unbelief. The father understood that faith in God is not a one and done choice or just a switch that God turns on at the moment of salvation. The beauty of this story is the fact that Jesus demonstrated His power over demonic influence and sickness to heal someone. We believe the same power of Christ lives in us. Some people interpret it, when they say a person is not healed of serious illness, they do not have faith but this is not true. We believe that God is all powerful, Jesus still does miraculous healing and most Christians can identify with this man from time to time. It is the acknowledgement of our inadequacy that allows God to work in and through us. As always, we can ask for what we need, when we doubt, we can ask for more faith. When we are wavering in our resolve to follow, we can ask for more resolve. When we are unwilling to obey, we can ask to be made willing. Sometimes, when our circumstances seem overwhelming, our prayer can simply be, I believe Lord but help me overcome my unbelief. Let’s pray, Father, we thank you for your word and what we have learnt today. As your children, sometimes we may go through ups and downs but we pray that we will continue in faith, that is what you desire for us, to rest in your word and your promises that we will see your miraculous power working in and through our lives, in Jesus’ name we pray, Amen. Crossing The Line (Daily Devotional)

Crossing The Line (Daily Devotional)
Greetings and welcome to Living Supernaturally. Thank you so much once again for joining us to spend a few moments in the word and in prayer. Luke chapter 17, verses 15 through 19, ‘And one of them, when he saw that he was healed, returned, and with a loud voice glorified God, and fell down on his face at His feet, giving Him thanks. And he was a Samaritan. So, Jesus answered and said, “Were there not ten cleansed? But where are the nine? Were there not any found who returned to give glory to God except this foreigner?” And He said to him, “Arise, go your way. Your faith has made you well.”’ This is not the first time Jesus travelled across the border of Samaria. He often crossed this border and many times His critics might call it crossing the line. The Samaritans were half breed cousins of the people of Judah and Galilee. Borders were not only geographical; they were also dividing lines set up to avoid the spread of disease. Jewish law prohibited anyone with such a disease from associating with the general community. They had to be isolated and many times live as outcasts until they died. This was necessary in order to keep infectious diseases from becoming a pandemic, but for those afflicted, it could be a life sentence. The lepers in today’s story knew how to maintain their distance. Leprosy was dangerous, they were forced to stay outside of communities so that others wouldn’t get their disease. The lepers begged Jesus to heal them and He did so. Cleansing them as they went to the priest who were authorized to declare them clean again. The bible doesn’t record how far they walked before they were healed. However, only one man returned to thank Jesus for the healing. Luke makes special mention of the fact that the one who returned was a Samaritan, a person despised by the Jews. Jesus expressed disappointed on all the other nine who had received their healing but didn’t think it right to praise God for it. From this, we learn that God desires for us to express our thankfulness to Him for all that He does in our lives. Even though Jesus didn’t withhold the healing from the nine who did not thank Him, He made it a point of noting their lack of gratefulness. Because they had faith, all ten were physically healed but Jesus’ final words to the grateful Samaritan implied that this man received healing in addition to cleansing of sins. Jesus said, rise and go, your faith has made you well. This man who returned to Jesus’ feet received spiritual wholeness in addition to physical wholeness. Are we willing to do the same? When we take time to thank Jesus for everything that He has done for us, we receive His complete healing. Let’s pray, Father, we thank you for your word which is so powerful. Thank you for teaching us to walk by faith and not by sight. We declare your word and your promises over our lives. We ask that we will continue to trust you, to be grateful for everything that you have blessed us with. We give you all the praise and glory, in Jesus’ name we pray, Amen. Raising Lazarus (Daily Devotional)

Raising Lazarus (Daily Devotional)
Greetings and welcome to Living Supernaturally. Thank you so much for giving us another opportunity to come together, minister God’s word and spend a few moments in prayer. This week, we are looking at various miracles that Jesus did during His earthly ministry. Today, we will look at raising Lazarus. John chapter 11, verses 43 and 44, ‘Jesus called in a loud voice, “Lazarus, come out!” The dead man came out, his hands and feet wrapped with strips of linen, and a cloth around his face.’ Scholars describe the raising of Lazarus as the seventh and final sign or miracle in the book of John. As we can see, Jesus saved the best for the last. Lazarus me Jesus many times, the two of them were friends. Jesus and His disciples had often stayed in the home of Lazarus and his sisters, Mary and Martha. During Jesus’ delay, Lazarus died. From our human perspective, none of this makes sense. Jesus loves and He is our healer. Jesus is kind and caring. The choice to not come back seems to go against everything the disciples knew about their Rabbi. Jesus can never go against His character. So, there must be a more significant reason as to why Jesus didn’t go immediately to heal his friend, Lazarus. Lazarus had now been dead for 4 days, long enough for everyone to know that he was certainly dead. But Jesus told them to open the tomb away. When He commanded Lazarus to come out, the dead man came back to life and walked out of the tomb. Lazarus came out of the tomb not as a zombie, but as a living and breathing human being. His sickness, death, burial and restoration of life was used by God to bring faith into the lives of His disciples and those around. Lazarus’ death and resurrection were like a dress rehearsal for Jesus’ own death and resurrection. This is an astonishing miracle but it shows us that Jesus was more powerful than death itself. It shows us that Jesus’ power and authority was beyond our natural understanding. This story acts like a preview for the even more important story of Jesus’ resurrection. Jesus points forward to that event when He says to Maratha, ‘I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die and whoever lives by believing in me will never die.’ In our skeptical, post-modern age, this may seem like a story that is embellished by John to help sell people to the idea of following Jesus, but this miraculous story is real just like other signs in the book of John, it is meant to point to a deeper truth about Jesus and His ministry. In Jesus, not even death itself can defeat us. If we are in Christ, we will have eternal life and victory over death no matter what we face today. Let us pray, Father, we thank you for your power. We thank you that when you said Lazarus come forth, you showed the enemy that you hold the keys of death and hell. We thank you that we stand victorious in your presence. We pray that as your children, we will walk in victory, that your anointing will break chains, we thank you that we can trust in you, in Jesus’ name we pray, Amen. Jesus Chose You (Daily Devotional)

Jesus Chose You (Daily Devotional)
Greetings once again and welcome to Living Supernaturally. Thank so much for this opportunity to minister God’s word and spend a few moments in prayer. Jesus chose you. John chapter 5, verses 8 and 9, ‘Jesus said to him, “Get up! Pick up your mat and walk.” At once the man was cured; he picked up his mat and walked.’ The pool of Bethesda was renowned as a supposed place of healing during Jesus’ time. The pool of Bethesda in Aramaic was called the house of mercy and it was a spring fed pool just north of the temple. Near the water, a great number of disabled people used to lie, the blind, the lame, the paralyzed and these people would wait expectantly at the pool because they believed that an angel of the Lord would come down and after stirring up the water was made well of whatever disease they had. When Jesus went up to this man, He asked him, do you want to get well? The man had the opportunity to say yes and be healed by Jesus but instead the man put his faith in the so-called waters of the pool there and he complained that people cut through in front of him the moment the water was stirred. Sometimes, we may smirk at this man’s response but many times, we don’t receive the offer of healing from Jesus very well either. Do we take the opportunities that are presented to us or do we tend to complain and blame others for our problems? Thankfully, the story of the lame man in John chapter 5, shows us that healing is not about us, healing is about Jesus. Even though the man didn’t respond to Jesus in faith, Jesus still healed him. Even though the man complained, Jesus still gave him the ability to walk. Jesus swept aside all superstitions and false beliefs in just one command. He said, rise, take up your bed and walk. When we do not approach Jesus in complete faith or obedience, Jesus still offers us healing and salvation. Faith in anything other than Jesus is misplaced and leaves us wanting. Yet, Jesus can forgive anyone who will turn to Him for salvation, that is the ultimate healing that we all need. The source of our salvation is never based on our actions or work, it is always by the grace of God in Jesus. This reminds us of what Jesus later says to His disciples in John chapter 15, verse 16, Jesus says, ‘You did not choose me, but I chose you.’ What a powerful, loving, faithful God! Let’s pray, Father, we thank you for choosing each one of us to be partakers of your kingdom and we thank you for your word that assures us that we are co heirs with you, we are seated with you in heavenly places. Right now, I speak and declare healing over each one of us no matter what condition we are going through. We pray for the healing power of God to touch our lives and bring healing. We thank you for your word declares that by your striped we are healed, in Jesus’ name we pray, Amen. Stand Up Straight (Daily Devotional)
Hi everyone, welcome to Living Supernaturally. Thank you so much once again for giving us this wonderful opportunity to minister God’s word and pray together. This week, we are talking about the miracles of Jesus and how He ministered healing. Luke chapter 13, verse 16, ‘should not this woman, a daughter of Abraham, whom Satan has kept bound for eighteen long years, be set free on the Sabbath day from what bound her?’ This story again, is an incredible story of restoration and healing. Everyone probably knew her as the bent over woman. She came to worship in the synagogue regularly but she was not recognized by her name but by her condition. Her identity as God’s child was taken away from her. Her neighbors saw her through eyes of pity. The religious leaders saw her as an example of someone who was not right with God and deserved the sickness she had. She came to the synagogue every Sabbath crippled with pain, bent over in shame and thirsty for the living water form God to bring healing on her body. Yet, no one paid attention to her. For eighteen long years, the religious leaders failed to pray with her for the six other days that they had and the opportunities they had to pray for healing. But Jesus saw her. When He called her forward, she might have thought He meant someone else but Jesus was speaking straight at her. So, she slowly shuffled towards Him. Jesus saw her as a prisoner who needed to be set free from this bondage. We could say the religious leaders had a point. This woman had been bent over for eighteen years, would waiting one more day make much of a difference? But to Jesus, this was about setting the person free from a burdensome disease and giving her the dignity of being a child of Abraham. What’s more, this was about giving glory to God and for the woman to be restored on the sabbath day. Ultimately, the healing pointed to the salvation that only Jesus can offer. Salvation is so important that Jesus wanted the authorities to know that it should take place at any day and at any time. Healing of this woman can teach us that we also shouldn’t wait to receive the salvation of Jesus. Salvation is a free, eternal gift and it makes each of our lives better. With such a great gift offered to us, why should we wait any longer to receive it? Receive Jesus’ salvation into your hearts and lives today. Let’s pray, Father, we thank you for this word and for your healing power that rests upon each one of us. We declare your promise that by your stripes we are healed and we pray we will continue to rest in you and you word. We give you all the praise and glory, in Jesus’s name we pray, Amen. What Do You Want Me To Do For You? (Daily Devotional)

What Do You Want Me To Do For You? (Daily Devotional)
Greetings and welcome to Living Supernaturally. Thank you so much for giving us this opportunity to come together, minister God’s word and spend a few moments in prayer. This week, we will be talking about healing and the various ways Jesus brought healing during His earthly ministry. Mark chapter 10, verses 46 to 52, ‘Now they came to Jericho. As He went out of Jericho with His disciples and a great multitude, blind Bartimaeus, the son of Timaeus, sat by the road begging. And when he heard that it was Jesus of Nazareth, he began to cry out and say, “Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me!” Then many warned him to be quiet; but he cried out all the more, “Son of David, have mercy on me!” So, Jesus stood still and commanded him to be called. Then they called the blind man, saying to him, “Be of good cheer. Rise, He is calling you.” And throwing aside his garment, he rose and came to Jesus. So, Jesus answered and said to him, “What do you want Me to do for you?” The blind man said to Him, “Rabboni, that I may receive my sight.” Then Jesus said to him, “Go your way; your faith has made you well.” And immediately he received his sight and followed Jesus.’ In this encounter, Bartimaeus met Jesus. In the book of Mark, there are many stories of Jesus healing many people during His earthly ministry but the story of blind Bartimaeus is a remarkable one. Mark takes the trouble to tell us his name but many other people who Jesus met was just a man in the crowd or a woman with the issue of bleeding. We are also told that Bartimaeus followed Jesus after being healed and this event happened just before Jesus died on the cross. Jesus said to Bartimeus that his faith had healed him. Bartimeus believed not in himself but in Jesus’ power to heal. When he saw Jesus, he called Jesus the Son of David which is a royal title and when Bartimeus went to Jesus, he threw his cloak aside. Bartimeus was wiling to toss aside perhaps the only possession that he owned in order to seek Jesus. Graciously, Jesus responds, what do you want me to do for you? Jesus had asked James and John the same question, but they had answered saying they wanted places of honor with Jesus in heaven. Jesus restores Bartimeus’ sight and sends him away. The man sees what he must do next. Bartimeus is a model disciple for us. He goes on to follow Jesus, no longer blind, he becomes a follower of Christ. No matter who we are, we can approach Jesus with the same kind of simple faith. We can trust that Jesus will heal us and His power alone will save us. Christ’ question echoes through history, what do you want me to do for you? Let’s pray, Father, we thank you for your word and your promise, you said that healing is ours. We pray that wherever we are, that we will tap into that healing and receive your healing over each one of our bodies, we give you all the praise, in Jesus’s name we pray, Amen.
