In our Madison Taxi Game of the Week, the Middleton Cardinals looked to build on their current win streak and remain near the top of the Big 8 conference. Madison West traveled to Middleton tonight in a conference battle. The Cardinals jumped out to a 9-0 lead early on, and carried an 8 point lead into halftime. The Regents climbed back to within 3 midway through the 2nd half, but then Middleton pulled away down the stretch. Cardinals G Sam Close finished with 28 points in the victory. On a snowy Friday night in the Madison area, the Spartans and Lancers weren't going to let the weather stop them from battling for 2nd place in the Big Eight. Memorial opened the game with a barrage of points. then La Follette clawed their way back to take a 2 point lead into half time. The Lancers opened the 2nd half with some hot shooting beyond the arc, but the Spartans kept the game within reach. Memorial F Nick Caropreso hit 2 clutch free throws to tie the game with 23 seconds left. La Follette SG Troy Reeves Jr. found himself open and hit the game winning jumper with 2 seconds left.
