1: Taking The Leap - Solo Episode
Welcome to Diving In. In the debut episode, Leslie Mosier and Marissa Mullen share their stories of leaving the entertainment industry to start their own businesses. They discuss the setbacks, successes and the fears that revolve around taking a leap of faith.  Leslie worked at a Nashville-based artist management company after graduating with a degree in music business from Belmont University. During this time, she also posted photos of her adorable pug (for fun). Doug The Pug took off in 2015, encouraging Leslie to take the leap and run her dog’s instagram account full-time. Since then, Leslie has cultivated a community with over 1 billion video views and over 18 million followers across platforms. Leslie is a New York Times Best-Selling author and Doug is now a household name. He was awarded The People's Choice "Animal Star" in 2019 and 2020. In 2021, Doug made his acting debut in The Mitchells vs. the Machines as the voice of Monchi, which debut at #1 on Netflix. Leslie also launched the Doug The Pug Foundation, to bring joy and hope to children battling cancer and other life-threatening diseases.  Marissa worked at The Late Show with Stephen Colbert with bandleader Jon Batiste after graduating with a degree in music business and communications from Northeastern University. Between a demanding late night TV schedule and touring the country, Marissa continued to manage her anonymous Instagram account dedicated to cheese plates. In 2019, That Cheese Plate hit a viral streak in the press, leading to a book deal for her Cheese By Numbers concept. Marissa left her job in music to pursue That Cheese Plate full time. Since then, she has amassed 1 million followers across platforms, became a Wall-Street Journal Best-Selling author, has been featured on Live with Kelly and Ryan, Good Morning America, Today Show, Access Hollywood and Rachael Ray. Marissa is credited for pioneering the charcuterie trend we see in popular culture today.  Sponsored By: Organifi www.organifi.com/divingin  For 20% off your order use code DIVINGIN Check Out Leslie and Marissa: -Diving In Instagram: @divinginpod -Leslie’s Instagram: @lesliemosier -Marissa’s Instagram: @marissamullen -That Cheese Plate: @thatcheeseplate -Doug The Pug: @itsdougthepug Visit Diving In Online: Diving In - A Podcast
