Revelation 1: As for the Mystery...
Revelation 1 (ESV)Andrew and Edwin recognize Revelation is a series of visions, full of descriptive images. They discuss the temptation to try to find some specific meaning behind every little detail. However, they not when something really needs to be explained, the book gives explanation. We do not need to ferret out some secret meaning to every part of the visions. Some parts are stage dressing. Some parts merely fill out the scene of the vision. As you read, pay attention to when John, Jesus, or an angelic being give explanation.Read the written devo that goes along with this episode by clicking here.    Let us know what you are learning or any questions you have. Revelation 1: Partner in Tribulation and the Kingdom
Revelation 1 (NKJV)Andrew and Edwin discuss some modern systems of teaching and doctrine which rely on Revelation: Premillennialism, Postmillennialism, and Amillennialism. Further, they discuss how John demonstrated he and his audience were not waiting on a future tribulation or a future kingdom. Both were already in existence when he wrote. Whatever we discover in Revelation, we will not find we are waiting for a kingdom to be established some time in our future. It was already there. John was already a partner in it.Read the written devo that goes along with this episode by clicking here.    Let us know what you are learning or any questions you have.
