Christian Outdoors Podcast

Pete Rogers

Christian Outdoors Podcast is owned and operated by Christian Outdoor Adventures, Inc. a 501c3 non-profit operating in Taylors, SC. In 2019, after a lot of prayer and research, founder and host, Pete Rogers launched Christian Outdoors Podcast with one drive and mission. “To talk about all things outdoors and how to enjoy God every day.” Through his 25 years as an outdoor writer, author, and speaker. Pete learned that any of the folks in the outdoor arena were Christians without a platform to express their faith. Cable television shied away from overt or subtle mentions of Christianity. Publications were clear, that no mention of God, much less Jesus was not allowed. This left a void for many who live for Christ but who also need to make a living with their product(s). On October 1, 2019, the first episode was released with the commitment to release one episode a week for one full year and then re-evaluate. After that first year, the momentum was slow, but Pete felt that he needed to keep going. The model is simple; Pete interviews stakeholders in the outdoor community and they discuss their passion for the outdoors, and we follow that with a discussion about their individual faith journey. On a regular basis, Pete will bring in two pastors who share his passion, tackle tough theological issues, and share their insight into what the Bible says about that particular subject. Pete has a deep passion for the outdoors, spending more than 200 days a year in the outdoors, hiking, camping, hunting, and fishing wherever he can. But his passion for sharing the good news of Jesus is what drives him to continue to grow the podcast and reach as many people as he can through this medium. We are just getting started, and with God’s blessing, and the support of key partners, this ministry will continue to grow and reach folks with the good news of Jesus. read less

222. Grand Funk Railroad to Heaven
Legendary all-American frontman and guitarist, Mark Farner, was the engine that pulled the original Grand Funk Railroad repeatedly to the top of the charts, and today he’s a platinum recording artist 30 times over. At age 75, Farner commands the stage with the same intensity and outpouring of love as he did during the summer of ’69 and his fans are still flocking to see “the Captain.” The rock patriot’s synergy and open heart still come through in epic hits that defined a generation including— “I’m Your Captain” (Closer to Home)”  “We’re An American Band” “Heartbreaker” “Bad Time To Be In Love” and recut covers of  “The Loco-Motion” and “Some Kind of Wonderful.”  Being viewed as a “Rockstar” is only one facet of the legacy of this Michigan-born son.   Mark is as real as they get: he’s a husband, a father, and grandfather, and in his fourth decade of marriage to wife Lesia. He’s a true family man. “Love is unconditional,” he explains. “Just like when you hold a baby, the love transfers. I feel that love from the audience when I’m on stage.” Farner, the rock patriot that he is, works tirelessly to honor our nation’s service personnel and Veterans wherever they are stationed. He wants everyone to remember the huge sacrifices our men and women in the armed services freely give; all to protect our amazing country and freedoms. Some 50 years later something magical still happens when Farner takes the stage.  His voice is still strong and on key, his guitar playing still slick and lighting quick, and his trademark prancing still commands the stage and mesmerizes his audiences around the world. “I love playing live where I can connect with people of all backgrounds,” he said. “ It’s all about the fans…and all about love.” At the age of 9 Farner accepted Jesus at his dad's wake and since then has been in hot pursuit of the love found only through the blood of Christ. He is unashamed of his faith and his passion, with 4 "God Rock" albums to his credit, his mission today is to share his passion for music and his passion for Jesus with his hoards of fans around the world.      www.nukemhunting.com  www.taurususa.com www.cva.com www.citrusafe.com www.birddogcoffeebeans.com www.christianoutdoors.org

212 - Saving Every Child in America
Rocky Malloy is an author, speaker, and activist for education and children’s rights, born and unborn. As a U.S. Merchant Marine Commander, Rocky was sentenced to life in a Mexican federal prison for conspiracy to over through the national government and international drug trafficking in a misguided attempt to help indigenous people in southern Mexico. Yet, arrest, sentencing, incarceration, and pardon occurred in a miraculous 72 hours. Twenty-eight years of living in various Latin American countries resulted in an international program ministering to PK-12 children in over 23,000 schools in 23 countries. Social outcomes were breathtaking: an 80% reduction in teen pregnancy, up to 37% increase in high school graduates, and zero reported suicides in the last 13 years. In 2021, Rocky and his family moved to Houston, Texas. The mission: to bring their international ministry success to U.S. public schools through chaplains. The vision is simple: to give school-aged children the tools they need to make quality life decisions. Rocky and Joske were married in Groningen, Holland, in 1990 and had five beautiful children, all serving the Lord. Rocky regularly speaks on visionary leadership, educator, and children’s rights.   This episode will motivate you, educate you and inspire you to see, that God's plan for you is greater than you can imagine. Trusting in Him, and following him wherever he leads will cause miracles to happen.  The Chaplain in the School program is a very tough hill to climb, but we beleive that it is possible and necessary to reach the lost.  https://www.nationalschoolchaplainassociation.org
