The birth of a baby brings with it a roller coaster of mixed emotions ranging from joy to fear. But, one unexpected state could be depression. And, what's more, any new mother is susceptible to it!

In the 21st episode, hosts Dr Meghna and Devishobha talk about Postpartum Depression (PPD)- what it is and why it happens, how PPD is different from postpartum blues, and how new moms experiencing it can cope with it.

The hosts discuss how new mothers, already grappling with a host of biological, emotional, social, and financial changes, can recognize that they’re experiencing PPD. They also discuss the causes of PPD and why it’s a condition that is being heard about more these days.

The hosts also discuss how families can support a new mother experiencing PPD. They also highlight the importance of seeking professional help in treating PPD.

The hosts share 3 buckets of strategies for dealing with PPD, acronymed SAD.

S= Support

A= Activities for the well-being

D= Daily activities
