Mack Brown and the North Carolina football team have an opportunity to pick up yet another 2023 defensive player on Saturday. This time is 4-star CB Braeden Marshall. The Florida native will decide between the Tar Heels, Nebraska, and Wisconsin. This is an interesting mix of schools, particularly given his recent connection to closer-to-home Central Florida. There’s not a good feel or leaning in any particular direction for which way Marshall will go.

UNC did pick up another DE commit recently in Rico Walker. The Hickory, NC native becomes the third DE verbal in the #JordanClass, however he projects as someone who could be slotted in various positions. Sports Illustrated Director of Football Recruiting John Garcia, Jr. sees some of recent No. 1 NFL draft pick Travon Walker in Rico.

Daevin Hobbs, who was set to announce his commitment on August 1 has postponed his commitment to an as-of-yet undertermined later date. The prevailing understanding is that he would be a Tar Heel. Nothing is moving John Garcia off of that as of yet, BUT Hobbs is visiting Alabama this weekend. Stay tuned for more info.
