As Washington Nationals skipper Davey Martinez has already announced who will be replacing Cade Cavalli in the meantime, Ryan is not happy about this decision. They've announced that 30 year old Chad Kuhl will replace him for the time being whether that is long term, or short term. Well... how does this make sense? One of the Washington Nationals top prospects, Cade Cavalli, left yesterday's start with an elbow injury that he will be getting an MRI for. Keibert Ruiz and the Washington Nationals agreed to an 8-year extension worth $50 million, and everyone should be happy. Keibert Ruiz is considered to be a stout defensive catcher at this point, and that alone is a huge deal considering where we are at with this rebuild. Young pitchers need to feel comfortable behind the plate, and Ryan explains just why Ruiz is the perfect fit for it. Ruiz has had some inconsistencies at the plate, but don't let that overshadow you from the potential that he has at the plate. Game 1 is in the books, and the young studs shined for the Washington Nationals!
